The California Federation of Republican Women accomplishes its goals and objectives through numerous volunteer programs, activities and events. Our programs are designed to educate our membership and to provide outreach and support activities to our surrounding communities.
Our organizations offer scholarships to deserving men and women, political internships and, through our Lobbyist, present proactive positions on identified bills. We provide educational services on elections and on current public policy issues, and provide training for community leaders.
At the division level of the Federation we continue to promote and educate on programs that fulfill our goals of voter education, scholarship and community outreach. Some of the programs that are important to the members and Unit Clubs of CFRW Southern Division are:
The Advocacy Program, headed up by our Registered Lobbyist, allows the California Federation of Republican Women to promote those issues important to their membership. Once a year, during the Spring Conference and Board Meeting the Federation meets in Sacramento and spends one day working with the members of the California State Legislature followed by the Spring Conference and Board Meeting where the members, guests and students hear from legislators on progess in the State Capitol.

The Ambassadors are those who financially support our Advocacy program by supplying additional funding, through their membership, to LASOF, our Legislative Advocate Fund. This is separate and apart from our regular membership and associate dues. Members of the Ambassadors group receive additional benefits at State Meetings and at the Advocacy Day attend a special reception in their honor. For $500.00, $250.00, $100.00 or $50.00 per year, all are welcome to join this vital part of Federation activities and keep our education of our membership alive and healthy.
Republican women give back a thousand-fold to their communities. The many charities and philanthropical organizations that they are involved with are numerous. The total number of hours, dollars contributed to the cause(s) and pounds of donated items are tallied in this program.
Republicans do care!!!! To promote this, unit clubs are encouraged to select various community projects. Republican women are leaders in community involvement, but have been inclined to keep their political
affiliations private. Now through Community Relations/Caring for America Projects, we can include the name Republican when the club chooses to sponsor those projects that we, as individuals, have been doing all along.
The 2008-2009 Contest Deadline is June 1, 2009.

No Child Left Behind
CFRW's "No Child Left Behind" Committee began in January, 2002. The Committee's goal is to establish projects that assist in providing California's school children the best education possible. Each Unit Club determines the educational needs of its community, and the degree to which the club can assist children within the schools or elsewhere.
The emphasis is on reading and literacy. Through the distribution of books to children who do not have the luxury of books at home, to working one on one with a child to improve reading skills, the "No Child Left Behind Program" promotes the principle that "Education is a bipartisan issue!"
The No Child Left Behind Program is based on the the strong education proposals of the Republican Party and the need and vision to institute effective change in our education system to ensure all children learn commensurate with their ability.
The NFRW Website which speaks of this program states:
Republicans across the country not only have strong education reform results, but also offer a strategic plan to improve the quality of public schools for all children. The Republican plan says parents, teachers, and local school districts must have the flexibility to make important decisions and to provide the environment in which students will excel.
Through our No Child Left Behind Program we are developing activities which promote this lofty goal.
Precinct Operations and Voter Registration
We quickly learn that bad government and poor officials are elected by good citizens who choose not to vote. Federated Women spend numerous hours involved in this activity. In addition to registering Republican voters, Federated women walk precincts and deliver candidate information and voter information in election years. This program is often coordinated through the County and State Party.
To vote in an election you must meet the requirements of the state in which you live. In California, for example, you may register to vote if you are
- A citizen of the United States
- A resident of the State of California
- Are at least 18 years of age(or will be by the date of the next election)
- You are not in prison, on parole for conviction of a felony
- or, you have not been judged by a court to be mentally incompetent to register and vote.

Scholarships
Scholarship information
The Federation, at all levels, delivers scholarships to deserving students and women reentering the work place. Some scholarship programs are given nationally others are specific to the level of the federation.
The
Charlotte Mousel Scholarship
is specific to Southern Division. Named after a former well respected NFRW President from the Southern Division of California this yearly scholarship recognizes High School students through an essay contest. Charlotte Mousel believed strongly in our constitution and so this scholarship always uses the Constitution and its uniqueness as the subject matter.
Speaker's Roster
At all levels of the Federation we hold educational and informational meetings for our membership and invited guests. We invite qualified Speaker's to submit the name and resume to our speaker's roster and for units throughout the state to submit the names of speaker's and programs they have held which others may choose to invite to participate in their programs.
