ERWF received the 2005 NFRW Caring for America Award for our nationwide program known as Operation Apron. Last year our club raised over $24,000. to go to the Freedom Alliance for children's scholarships whose military parents have been dismembered or lost their lives while protecting us in Iraq or Afghanistan. Tulelake Basin RWF was chartered in 1967. Parts of two counties, Modoc and Siskiyou, are included in the basin. Approximately half of the members are from each county. There are presently two Congressional Districts, two State Senate Districts and one State Assembly District represented. The primary purpose of our club is to educate members about candidates and issues and to register voters at community events.

We meet monthly from September to May on the 4th Monday of the month for lunch, a business meeting and a speaker/program. The present location is the East Sonora Conference Center. Reservations must be made in advance as there is always a menu choice.
In 2008 we will be hosting a FASHION SHOW in the spring/early summer and our 70th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION EVENT in the fall. We will also be doing our first-ever COOKBOOK as a fund-raiser and to honor our 70th Anniversary.

Our general meeting is held on the last Tuesday of every month at the Ukiah Garden Cafe at noon featuring a monthly guest speaker. Ukiah is a very energetic and motivated group. The club has a campaign headquarters. We actively support GI moms and offer an annual educational scholarship. There is a satellite group within the club, "Republican Women in Progress." They hold a monthly floating meeting.

The Valley Center unit of the RFW meets on the third Thursday of every month at the Sizzler on Broadway in Escondido. We have one major fundraiser every year, with proceeds supporting scholarships and sending two to four high school juniors to Advocacy Days in Sacramento.
We support the TARS Club at Valley Center High, and our eight-foot automated elephant, Miss Liberty, gets attention at the annual VC Western Days Parade.
